Functional Movement Screening
Functional Movement Screen (FMS) is a standardized movement screening tool used to see how an individual, no matter their age, is moving in everyday life.
Functional Movement Screen (FMS)
The FMS appointment is designed to analyze movement patterns and observe mobility and stability strengths and deficits. The purpose is to get a baseline idea of where a clients mobility is and address any areas for improvement.
*Please note this is a standardized test and does not substitute as a kinesiology assessment.
How does it work?
A functional movement screen is a 30 minute appointment consisting of 7 standardized exercises that our certified Kinesiologiest will explain, demonstrate and lead you through. Each movement pattern will then be scored and compiled into documentation that can be later used as a guide for training purposes or baseline to compare to.
The functional movement screen is ideal for:
- Athletes
- People who are looking for a baseline fitness evaluation
- General population
- People who are keen to improve their exercise performance
