Back to School with Orthoquest

The new school year is here and we want to help you get prepared for another epic year. Whether you are a student, parent, teacher or other professional here is Orthoquest’s 5 part ‘lesson plan’ for back to school (or work) shopping!

Lesson #1: “Be Prepared”

Are you still dealing with an injury from this summer that is slowing you down? Or perhaps fall sports are starting up! Don’t start your year off on a bad note – braces can be great tools in helping to keep your body in a proper alignment allowing for the time to heal and strengthen the muscles around the affected areas. Lesson #2: “Don’t be tardy”

Switching orthotics between shoes can be tiring, don’t let it slow you down! Fall is a great time to look at getting a second pair of orthotics made so you don’t have to keep switching them from house slippers to runners to (eventually) winter boots). Lesson #3: “Stay Focused”

September often comes long days, busy schedules and not much time for rest – long gone are the days of relaxation at the lake. But sitting at a desk all day or in front of a screen can be tiring not only on your eyes but also on your legs. Keep your legs (and feet) healthy by trying a pair of compression socks – they will help keep your blood moving and keep you feeling energized all day. Lesson #4: “Comfort is key”

Whether you are heading back to the classroom or continuing to work from home, the fall is a great time to look at what we are putting on our feet, in and out of home. Just how we often switch our shorts and tank tops for sweaters and long pants, we should also look at replacing old worn out footwear with new, supportive options. How do you know if it’s time for new shoes? Ask yourself a couple of questions: Am I experiencing any new aches or pains? Are there any visible signs of wear and tear on my shoes? Have I had my shoes longer than a year? If you answer yes to any of those questions, chances are it is time for some new shoes! Click here to browse our selection of shoes.

Lesson #5: “Have fun”

This year has been quite a year, to say the least. In all the chaos, anxiety, and stress, it can be hard to take a step back and find joy in the little things. Remember to take a moment or two to yourself each day to do something that brings you excitement and brings back that feeling you had on your first day of school, wearing your new cloths, and carrying your new lunchpack in hand.
