Frozen Shoulder is a condition characterized by significantly limited range of motion of the glenohumeral joint, and is often accompanied by sharp pain. Tissues surrounding the shoulder joint become inflamed and begin to scar and tighten. The Joint capsule becomes thickened, tight and immobile, and the adhesions formed around the joint cause pain with movement.
Symptoms:
Sharp pain around the shoulder joint caused by movement
Limited Range of motion, especially overhead
Risk Factors:
Previous injury to the shoulder or rotator cuff
Age - Frozen Shoulder typically occurs at ages of 40+
Broken Arm or Surgery to shoulder
Sedentary lifestyle or any form of Systemic disease such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, Parkinson's, etc.
