It’s safe to say that summer is in full-swing here in the Okanagan. The sun is out, the lake is inviting, and it seems like everyone is out and about. While many of us may already know the benefits of an active lifestyle are too numerous to count, you may find yourself tired of the same workout routine or need a way to get motivated after an inactive start to the year. Whether you’ve been on the treadmill all winter long, or hibernating like a bear to avoid the cold, here’s some ways you can MoveWell with us all summer long.
MoveWell Community: Did you know that Orthoquest & Kelowna Kinesiology offer a monthly exercise subscription called MoveWell? All subscribers receive access to our virtual, live fitness classes, hundreds of pre-recorded classes in the content library, and monthly wellness workshops and educational resources. Classes include pilates, yoga, Zumba, high intensity interval training (HIIT), strength, core and many more. We strive to offer a personal approach to exercise. The classes are led by Practicing Kinesiologists and exercise specialists who have experience with a variety of injuries and are able to make suitable modifications when required.
*NEW*: We are now offering in-person outdoor classes for the summer! That’s right we’ll be offering a variety of classes now in-person in our very own backyard (the parking lot behind Orthoquest). All participants must bring their own mat, water bottle, and sweat towel if needed. Come and join us for Zumba dance parties, Saturday morning HIIT classes, and more all summer long! Best part? RunQuest Community: Thinking of getting into running or you are an avid runner who wants to join a group? Look no further than our RunQuest Community and monthly subscription. RunQuest meets every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6:00pm for an in-person run clinic and group training. Led by certified Running Mechanics Professional (Level II), Certified Pedorthists and Kinesiologists. You can look forward to learning new running drills, receiving group coaching as well as receiving access to our online platform containing: running resources, live fitness classes, on-demand videos in our content library, and wellness workshops. All abilities are welcome – We offer an introductory group for new runners, an intermediate-advanced group for those who are experienced, and a walking-workout group for those who are recovering from an injury or prefer more strength and endurance training. This run group is like no other in the Okanagan. Perfect for those learning how to run, people who run for fun and those training with.a specific goal in mind!
RideQuest Community: Do you like to road bike? Wanting a group to ride with and learn new tips and tricks with some experienced cyclists? Get ready to clip- in and settle into that bike seat for RideQuest. With RideQuest you can cycle, ride, grow, and gear up for summer. Enjoy an evening ride with our cycle leaders every Monday evening at 5:30pm. Some previous cycling experience is recommended and you must have a safe bike that’s ready to ride! New routes being explored every week and new opportunities to explore Kelowna.
