Kinesiology
Kinesiologists are human movement specialists. They use movement as a form of rehabilitation and a way to help patients move well, be well.
Kinesiology is not just rehabilitative but also focuses on injury prevention and general wellness. Kinesiologists utilize corrective exercises and other supportive modalities with a personal approach to improve movement quality to achieve a better quality of life for individuals. They design and implement exercise programs which are based on postural analysis, movement pattern screens, and strength/flexibility assessments.
Who should see a Kinesiologist?
If you are unsure if you should see a Kinesiologist, ask yourself the following questions:
- Have you been in a recent motor vehicle accident?
- Have you been experiencing pain when you move for longer than 3 months?
- Are you having trouble with repeat injuries and/or pain?
- Has someone told you to work on your ‘core’ strength?
- Are you looking for an overall movement assessment?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions an assessment with a Kinesiologist can help!
